Dagesh I Exhibition at the Max Samuel Haus in Rostock: Call for Entries

Call for proposals: Solo exhibition or group exhibition (max. 3 artists) at the Max Samuel Haus, Rostock

The Max Samuel Haus in Rostock, in collaboration with Dagesh, invites artists from the network to present their research-based works as part of an exhibition. The works shall deal thematically with the Jewish history of Rostock. The attached Places of Jewish History in Rostock with selected Jewish sites in Rostock (Orten jüdischer Geschichte in Rostock) may serve as a source of inspiration.

Exhibition period:

  • From September 8 to October 10 – followed by a short interruption for the Jewish Culture Days.
  • The exhibition will be on display again from November until the end of the year.

Funding:

  • Budget: Up to €6,500 gross (travel, material and accommodation costs are included).
  • The artists are free to use the funds freely within the framework of the project.

Exhibition space:

  • The exhibition will take place in a space of approx. 30-40 m² in the Max Samuel Haus.

Application modalities:

  • Solo- or group exhibitions (maximum of three participating artists).
  • The works should be thematically linked to the Jewish history of Rostock.
  • The funding covers all project-related costs (travel expenses, material costs, accommodation, etc.).

Please submit the following documents:

  • Detailed project description (incl. thematic discussion and ideas for implementation, if possible; maximum 2 pages)
  • Curriculum vitae (CV)
  • Portfolio (max. 10 pages) with current work from the last three years as a PDF (max. 10 MB)
  • For group applications: Description of the planned collaboration
