The Henri Vogel Scholarship honours the legacy of Henri Vogel, a committed trans activist and valued member of DialoguePerspectives e.V.
Henri’s selfless commitment to supporting trans people within religious and worldview communities inspired the creation of this fellowship. The programme seeks to support young trans academics in their research on trans rights, thus continuing Henri’s vision for positive change.
Details on the Scholarship
Monthly Stipend
The fellow will receive a monthly stipend of €250 for a period of 12 months as financial support for their research, thus honouring Henri Vogel’s legacy.
Area of Research
The scholarship is directed towards research projects that address the challenges and opportunities facing trans people within religious and worldview communities in line with Henri Vogel’s engagement in life.
Conditions of Eligibility
Applicants must identity as trans.
Applicants should be engaged in research at the intersection of trans rights and religious/worldview communities.
The scholarship is open to academics of all disciplines relevant to the area of research who already hold a bachelor’s degree.
Application and Selection Procedure
Applicants are requested to submit a narrative CV and a detailed research proposal in which they present the breadth, goals, and methods of their project. A personal statement in which the applicant explains their motivation, background, and their engagement for the cause is also required. Letters of recommendation and academic transcripts may be requested in the course of the selection procedure.
Selection Committee
A body of experts, including representatives from academia, the LGBTQIA+ community, and from religious and worldview communities will assess each application on the basis of academic achievement, research potential, and alignment with the aims of the programme.
Timeframe
The scholarship will be awarded for a period of twelve months with a possibility for extension dependent on progress, funding, and project needs.
Advocacy Components
The fellows are encouraged to share their research at conferences, in publications, or through initiatives supporting societal engagement so as to honour and continue Henri Vogel’s legacy of support for societal awareness and positive change.
Community Support
Opportunities for networking, mentoring, and support will be offered as part of the programme DialoguePerspectives. Discussing Religions and Worldviews.
